We are LGBT+ people and friends telling the stories of our vibrant, inspiring and often marginalised communities. In doing so we aim to promote positive attitudes towards our communities, whilst developing on-going creativity within them.
Grin Theatre is Liverpool’s longest running grass roots, queer theatre company. Our focus is on devising provocative, relevant, engaging fringe theatre that is produced by new writers, directors, performers and crew. We create opportunities for new artists both locally and nationally to showcase their work to new audiences. We help them to develop their skills and talents through workshop events, writing groups and mentoring from our network of local theatre/writing professionals.
Queertet is our largest and most popular event and in 2016 celebrated its 5th year. it has also featured as a partner event to Liverpool Pride. In early 2017 we are looking forward to making an announcement about our plans to restructure this event to make it even more inclusive and representative of the LGBT+ community.
In September 2016 we partnered with Writing On The Wall and The Everyman Theatre and began a 12 week play writing course for new writers. This course is being delivered by our Managing Artistic Director Kiefer Williams, with input from our current Writer in Residence Will Cooper.
We have our own repertory actors group, allowing us to truly harness the talents of our regular performers. This will be reviewed annually so keep a look out for opportunities to get involved!
